FBLA Club Valentine Rose Fundraiser
February 1, 2016 through February 10, 2016, FBLA Club will be taking orders for Valentine Roses during all four lunches in the Hawk's Nest. Students can buy a silk flower for someone special and have it delivered towards the end of the day on February 12, 2016. One rose with a card is $1.50 and for an additonal .50 students can add a small Valentine balloon to add to the rose. If you have any questions please see an FBLA member or Ms. Shank in room M106.
Yearbook Order Deadline:
Parents please do not forget to order your student a copy of the 2015-2016 yearbook! The deadline is approaching fast! Deadline to place your order is February 26, 2016. You can order online at www.jostensyearbooks.com. You can also layaway a yearbook with a third of the total price deposit down and two additional payments within 90 days. Another option is to bring twenty dollars to Mrs. Losh in room 131 to reserve a copy. Please contact Mrs. Losh with any questions or concerns.
Key Club "Teens for Jeans Drive"
Do you happen to have old jeans at home that you no longer fit into or you haven't worn in a long time ? The Monroe High School Key Club would love to help! They are holding a "Teens for Jeans" drive from February 2, 2016-February 24, 2016. Donation boxes are located in the front office, the Hawk's Nest, the gym lobby and in the teacher's lounge. If you have any questions about the jean drive, please do not hesitate to ask Ms. Jessica Hall or Ms. Brooke Chambers.
Practice ACT February 20, 2016
Juniors are invited to take a practice ACT from 8 am to 12 pm on Saturday, February 20th in order to help them prepare for the ACT on March 1, 2016. Breakfast will be provided for all participants, as well as a snack when students are done testing. Interested students should see Mrs. Losh or Ms. Shroyer on North Hall by February 16th to sign up. Currently our seniors have received over 1,200,000 in Merit Scholarships!!! If your are a senior and have received a Merit Scholarship award letter, please bring the letter Guidance office. In addition, if you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please see Mr. Rodriguez in the Guidance office.
Changes to Student Grading Scale for 2015-2016
In October of 2014 the State Board of Education approved a standard 10-point grading scale and a change in standards for quality points for to begin at the start of the 2015-2016 school year. Click here (Spanish) for a summary of the changes.
