Elizabeth Allen (Principal)
About Mrs. Allen
Mrs. Elizabeth Allen earned her bachelor’s in Secondary Education, English Language Arts from Appalachian State University. After teaching English and being the AVID Coordinator at Shelby High School for six years, she chose to pursue her master’s in School Administration from UNCC through the NC Principal Fellows program.
Mrs. Allen served as an assistant principal in Rutherford County before coming to Union County Public Schools. Mrs. Allen came to Parkwood Middle School as an assistant principal in 2016, and moved into the Principal role in 2019.
Mrs. Allen enjoys reading Young Adult literature – her favorites being the Harry Potter and Twilight series, both of which she has read several times. Aside from reading, Mrs. Allen loves to travel and try new foods.
Mrs. Allen is married to her husband, Andrew, and has two sons, Asher and Evan.

Kim Hinson (Assistant Principal)
About Ms. Hinson
Assistant Principal Ms. Kim Hinson is from Mint Hill, NC and has worked for UCPS for 16 years. This is her 4th year at Parkwood Middle as an Assistant Principal. She attended Wingate University for both her BS in Recreation Administration, Master of Arts in Teaching, and an add-on degree for Educational Leadership. Ms. Hinson enjoys spending time at the beach as much as possible. She has a fur baby named Sunny.
Work History: 20 years in education, 16 years with UCPS, 2 years with CMS, 1 year with Holy Trinity, 1 year with Union Academy.

Ryan Williams (Assistant Principal)
About Mr. Williams
He joined the “family business” of education by serving as a student affairs administrator in higher education for 11 years prior to joining UCPS. Mr. Williams followed in the footsteps of his family with both parents working in the same school district in Texas for 35 years in addition 12-15 other educators in his extended family. While working in higher education, he worked directly with fraternities/sororities, housing, student conduct, and leadership development. Prior to coming to Parkwood Middle School, Mr. Williams taught high school science at Porter Ridge High School and served as the science department chair there. He served in a district-level instructional support position serving Cuthbertson Middle School, Cuthbertson High School, and Weddington High School as well as supporting the high school science curriculum area district-wide.
Mr. Williams attended the Texas Academy of Math and Science before attending Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration. After making the transition from higher education, Mr. Williams completed his teaching certification and Master of School Administration through the University of North Carolina – Charlotte. He lives in Charlotte with his husband, Julien, and their two dogs Linus & Lucy. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and exploring new restaurants.

Stephen Harris (Assistant Principal)
About Mr. Harris
Mr. Stephen Harris is a Union County native, graduating from Sun Valley High School before going on to UNC-Charlotte for his Undergraduate in History Education. Mr. Harris has spent most of his ten years in education working at Porter Ridge Middle School where he taught Math, Science, and Social Studies at different grade levels. Mr. Harris also held the role of full-time Administrative Intern at PRMS while he was finishing his Master’s Degree from Wingate University in Educational Leadership.
Outside of his experiences at Porter Ridge, Mr. Harris has spent time at Marvin Ridge High School, where he taught Math and Social Studies as well as spent a semester at Unionville Elementary School as a full-time admin intern. In his personal life, Mr. Harris likes to spend time with his wife, Heather, and dog, Briar, doing outdoor activities or cheering for the Panthers or Hornets.
