Monroe High School NC Report Card

  •

    Dear Parent and Friends,

Monroe High is an excellent school in which to learn and grow. Every day we embrace our diverse population and strive to meet each student’s needs academically, socially and culturally. This determination, collaboration, and sustained emphasis on alignment to our standards with high expectations have contributed to our effectiveness in a positive way.

Students at our school are provided with daily remediation and enrichment centered on continued literacy development across all disciplines.  Our teachers are using data to identify students who are in need of extra support or who are ready to be challenged at the next level.  Each student is provided 35 minutes of “extra” support during our “Redhawk Connections” class time.  We are dedicated to going above and beyond to help our students be successful.

Students at Monroe High have an opportunity to take a variety of courses to help prepare them for the workforce, college, or University. Our CTE department offers courses in nursing, carpentry, masonry, technology, electrical, web design, broadcasting, welding, public safety and much more.  The Redhawk band has been growing each year in active members, and our drama groups perform several times throughout the year.  We are also proud to announce our choral program is back and will be sharing their talents very soon across Union County. Their performances are a sense of pride for our school and the community we serve.  Our athletic teams offer opportunities for our students to showcase their skills and focus on life skills that promote character, teamwork, hard work, and dedication.

Our teachers work strategically to design and implement lessons that are geared to the individual needs of our students.  This differentiated approach to our academic day has provided students with great opportunities to demonstrate not only growth but mastery.  Our focus on common assessments, content literacy, and analyzing our standards will continue to provide a great high school experience for all students.

We believe that all of our students can be successful in the classroom when the right amount of self-discipline and self-motivation for academic success are in place.  Our focus at Monroe High School is continuous improvement for all students.
