Ms. Ashley Melton - Assistant Principal

Ms. Melton graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 2006 from Wingate University.  In 2007 she then obtained a Master's of Education degree in Elementary Education from Wingate University.  While completing her Master's degree she taught as an interim second grade teacher at Unionville Elementary.  Ms. Melton then went on to teach first grade for two years and third grade for three years at Sardis Elementary.  Ms. Melton taught third grade at Unionville Elementary and is now in her first year as an assistant principal at Fairview Elementary.  She finished her course work for a K-12 administrative license through Wingate University in May.  During her teaching career Ms. Melton has served as the Site Base Leadership Team chairperson, grade level chairperson, UCPS Partners in Mathematics presenter, Camp Inspire technology presenter, technology and mathematics integration presenter, a member of the first TEAM 21 cohort, globalization commitee chair, a student teacher cooperating teacher, and a Reader's Workshop model classroom observation teacher.  Ms. Melton is from Swansboro, NC and enjoys spending time with her family, friends and Pomeranian, Bentley.  Her hobbies include dancing, reading, riding roller coasters and watching live music.  She has been sky diving once and loves to try new things
