School Health Protocols
Protocols are standing orders or guidelines developed by a licensed health care professional using best practice for treating students in emergency situations and sick care. Protocols for fever, vomiting, and diarrhea may be helpful to school staff when evaluating when to send a child home from school due to illness. Our medical consultant for Union County Public Schools, Dr. Nancy Bizzell, has approved the following protocols for school nurses and staff.
