Did you Know?

  • Shiloh turned 100 during the 2016-17 school year! Students, staff, and community members helped to celebrate this important milestone for the school!

Students who have not missed a day at school during the school year (and have no more than 20 tardies unless medically excused) will receive a Perfect Attendance certificate on the final day of the school year. In order to have a student’s hand painted on our “Perfect Attendance Wall,” a student must be present in school each day, and s/he cannot have any tardies. Early check-outs are considered tardies.

Shiloh has only had 5 principals in the last 72 years. They are as follows: Mr. J.R. McCollum from 1942-1962; Mr. Paul Matheson from 1962-1988; Mrs. Linda Fritz from 1988-2006; Dr. Michael Henderson from 2006-2011, and Mr. Scott Spencer from 2011-present. Wow- That is an amazing statistic for sure!

If your child tells you they have a “buddy” and are in the BLT club --
Your child’s teacher selected them to be a part of our Buddies Learning Together Club. This is a student/teacher mentor program that pairs a 2nd-5th grade student with a teacher. The teacher will be another support person at Shiloh that will encourage our students to try their best, to help out with assignments if needed, or to just give an extra pat on the back if they need it!

Bulldog Tweets!-Shiloh has sent out hundreds of tweets through our Twitter accounts to keep our school community informed about school events. Here are directions taken from our website on how to receive our tweets:Shiloh families: Join Shiloh on Twitter! (You do not need to have, or sign up for, a Twitter account.) It’s easy. Here’s how to do it:1)      On your cell phones send a text to 40404. You would normally send a text to a phone contact or a phone number. In this case, just type 40404 in the “to” box on your phone.
    2) In the message section, type follow shilohbulldogs (The bolding is for illustration.)
    3) **Please note that there is a space between “follow” and “shilohbulldogs.” shilohbulldogs is written as one word, and you do not need to capitalize.
    4) You will receive a confirmation text from Twitter.
    5) You’re done! You will now be able to receive “tweets” from Mr. Spencer  about school events.

We also have another twitter account and a facebook account.

What’s for homework? Our students are assigned homework on a daily basis. Sometimes the assignments may be written, while other times the assignment may be to read at home. Our teachers are creating teacher pages through Google so that parents will know what they are doing in their classrooms. The student agenda remains the primary means of communication between the school and home. Please continue to check your child’s agenda each night for important class information. If you hear “We never have any homework,” from your child, please contact his/her teacher!
