Degrees and Certifications:
Vera Woolard attended Florida Atlantic University and moved into a teaching role within Broward County School system where she spent six years teaching in grades 1st, 2nd, and 4th prior to moving to North Carolina with her husband, Jeff. Her teaching experience continued within Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where she taught grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th and served as a Professional Development Master Teacher (PDMT) at Ballantyne Elementary and Albemarle Road Elementary. As a PDMT, her classroom became a learning lab for novice and experienced teachers within the county to gain best practices in differentiation, classroom management, curriculum/instruction, and various areas to support student growth and achievement.
After spending eleven years in the classroom, she moved into a Title I Instructional Coaching role where she provided instructional support to three Project LIFT schools (Druid Hills, Walter G. Byers, and Ranson IB) spanning from grades K-8. While serving in this role, she attended Gardner-Webb University and obtained her Master’s degree in Executive Leadership. In 2014, Mrs. Woolard transitioned into Union County to serve as an AP at Marvin Ridge Middle School. Recently she was named UCPS 2016-2017 Assistant Principal of the Year and as of February 2017 she was named Principal of Marvin Elementary School.
Mrs. Woolard resides in Waxhaw with her husband Jeff and two children, Madyson (8) and Brady (6).
