Bridgette Cunningham Carita- 8th grade
Ms. Carita is in her first year as a school counselor at SVMS. She received her Associates in Police Science, Bachelor’s degree as a double major Criminal Justice/Psychology from Radford University, and her Master’s degree in Counseling Education from Virginia Tech. In addition, she is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Ms. Carita has worked in a variety of settings during her education pursuit in different fields (including park ranger assistant, in a therapeutic group home and in Exceptional Children services). After completion of her Master’s she was an in-home counselor in Virginia and then outpatient therapist in NC and most recently within UCPS in a support counselor role for last 6 years and in Stanly County Schools as a school counselor for 9 years.
Ms. Carita enjoys reading, listening to music, being outdoors, watching her favorite sports teams, and spending time with her 2 boys and her cats. Ms. Carita is originally from southwest Virginia area and visits frequently with her family there. Currently she lives with her 2 sons and her husband in Marshville.
