2020 UCPS District Spelling Bee

Time:  9:30 AM (Contestants should arrive by 9 AM)

Location: Central Academy of Technology and Arts

Make-Up Date:  Tuesday, January 28, 2020

Winners from our forty elementary and middle schools will compete on January 24, 2020. UCPS District Spelling Bee held in the auditorium at Central Academy of Technology and Arts.  The winner will advance to represent Union County Public Schools in the 66th Charlotte Observer Regional Spelling Bee held at ImaginOn in Charlotte, NC on February 24, 2020.

In the event of inclement weather on January 24, the district spelling bee will follow the schedule below:

1 hour delay = The spelling bee will start at 10:30 AM and contestants should report at 10:00 AM 

2 hour delay = The spelling bee will be rescheduled to the make-up day on Tuesday, January 28.

No school = The spelling bee will be rescheduled to the make-up day on Tuesday, January 28.
