UCPS Holiday Card Contest

  • Elementary, middle and high school students are encouraged to participate in the UCPS Holiday Card ContestUCPS is looking for students to create festive artwork to celebrate this upcoming holiday season.

    Eligibility

    Any student who is currently enrolled in UCPS is eligible to participate. One entry per student.

    Recognition

    The winning artwork will be featured as the cover of the 2021 UCPS Holiday Card. The student’s name, grade and school will be noted on the card. The top 10 finalists will be invited to a special celebration and the winner will receive a personalized gift and recognition on the UCPS website and social media pages. In addition, the winning card will be available for purchase via an online portal. Proceeds will benefit the art department at the winning student’s school.

    Artwork Theme: Happy Holidays/Season’s Greetings

    Submissions should reflect holiday spirited or winter themes.
    Artwork may not reference or contain images related to specific religious holidays. DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS The final card size should be 8.5 in. wide x 6 in. tall. Please create all artwork to fit these proportions.

    Deadline for Entries

    All entries must be received by Monday, Nov. 1 at 5 p.m.

    Submission of Artwork

    To participate, submissions must be uploaded through an electronic form.

    Cast Your Vote

    New this year! Students, parents, staff and community members will be allowed to vote on the top 10 submissions Nov. 8 -11. The winner will be announced the week of Nov. 15. Stay tuned to UCPS social media pages and the website for updates.

    Copyright Law

    Any artwork that depicts copyrighted images will be rejected. For example, no artworks depicting characters from television shows, movies, video games, or books will be accepted. All artworks must be original ideas and created entirely by the student.

    Design Specifications

    The final card size will be 8.5 inches wide x 6 inches tall. Please create all artwork to fit these proportions. The artwork may be larger, but will be scaled to fit these final dimensions. Any artwork smaller than this size will not be considered. The winning artwork may be modified for production purposes. No electronic artwork will be accepted.

    Media and Technique

    Two-dimensional media may be submitted. Artwork that does not meet the size and quality requirements will not be considered. Artwork should not smear/smudge and must be dry.

    Reproduction Rights

    Union County Public Schools will retain all reproduction rights to submitted artwork with credit given to the artist. By submission, artists agree to assign all copyrights for the artwork to Union County Public Schools. Entries must be original in concept and work and not violate any artist or copyright laws.
