Julia Rackley - Assistant Principal
Mrs. Rackley graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in French and Library Science with additional certification in Elementary Education from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. She holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership/Administration from Wingate University.
Mrs. Rackley spent the first sixteen years of her career teaching first grade in her hometown of Aurora, Missouri. After moving to North Carolina in 2002, Mrs. Rackley taught Title I Reading for kindergarten through fifth grade students and was Title I Coordinator at Marshville Elementary for six years. She subsequently held the position of Assistant Principal and Principal at Marshville Elementary. She has had a variety of rich experiences throughout her educational career, which have allowed her the opportunity to participate in many aspects of a school as well as interact with a variety of schools and populations. She has participated in mentoring programs and pilot programs throughout her career. She is excited to be joining the Administrative team at New Town Elementary!
Mrs. Rackley and her husband, Ray, have been married for 35 years. They reside in Monroe. They have two daughters, Allison and Morgan, who are both Piedmont High School graduates. In her time outside of school, Mrs. Rackley enjoys reading and spending time with her family. She is very excited about becoming a grandmother for the first time in August 2019!
