Mrs. Janna Licata
Mrs. Licata holds a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Liberal Studies from California Baptist University. She received her Elementary Education certification from California State University, San Bernardino. She later went on to receive her Secondary Education degree in Spanish as well as her TESOL Certificate, which qualifies her to instruct English Language Learners. She holds a Master's of Administration in Education Degree from Chapman University.
Mrs. Licata served as a classroom teacher in Palm Springs, CA; Hermosillo, Mexico; and Brentwood, NY in both elementary and high schools. In the early part of her career, she took a year off to volunteer in Ecuador in a jungle outreach, school, and orphanage. She also served Palm Springs Unified School District as an English as a Second Language Coordinator before she became Assistant Principal of Desert Springs Middle School. After relocating to the Charlotte area in 2015, she worked at Garinger High School within Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools as an Assistant Principal before transferring to Marshville Elementary School in January of 2017.
Mrs. Licata has had the opportunity to serve in education throughout the country and abroad. She has enjoyed each of these roles because of the relationships she has formed with families in each of those communities. Her bilingual abilities as well as her genuine passion for learning are part of what allow her to connect with the students and families she serves.
Mrs. Licata and her husband Anthony live in Mint Hill with their two boys. Camillo, age 9, is in the fourth grade and Francesco, age 7 is in 2nd grade. They also have a black lab named Crosby. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.
