Degrees and Certifications:
Prior to becoming principal at Monroe Middle School, Mr. Wray served as principal of Weddington Middle School for seven years. He has had the opportunity to work in Union County Public Schools for ten years. During his tenure at Weddington Middle School the school received the National Blue Ribbon Award and in 2012 he was named UCPS Principal of the Year. He taught elementary Health and Physical Education in Fairfax County, Virginia for five years before relocating to Union County in 2005. Mr. Wray completed his undergraduate degree at Longwood University and received his master's degree in Educational Leadership from George Mason University.
He is married and has two daughters who attend Union County Public Schools. In his spare time, Mr. Wray enjoys spending time with his family and friends, as well as watching and playing sports.
Family: Wife: Dawn Wray, married 15 years. Daughters: Sydney Wray, 11 years old, 6th grader at Sun Valley Middle, Hayley Wray, 9 years old, 4th grader at Wesley Chapel Elementary.

How do you build rapport with students? Rapport with students is built through mutual respect and open communication. I believe in listening to students' thoughts and ideas, speaking with them about things beyond the school day, and by attending their extra-curricular activities.
Work History: 10 years in UCPS, 3 years as assistant principal at Weddington Middle and 7 years as Principal at Weddington Middle. 5 years in FCPS as a health and physical education teacher.
