Dr. Tracy Strickland, Principal

Dr. Tracy Strickland was born in Columbia, South Carolina and raised in Venezuela, South America. She graduated high school from Academia Christiansen, a small boarding school for English-speaking students in the Andes Mountains, very near the border of Colombia. After graduating from high school, she returned to the United States to attend college at North Greenville University where she earned her Associate of Arts degree. She went on to pursue her Bachelor of Arts degree at Charleston Southern University where she double-majored in Spanish and Psychology. After teaching Spanish at a number of high schools in South Carolina, Texas, and North Carolina, she earned her Master of School Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, also earning her administrator and curriculum specialist licenses. In December 2015, Dr. Strickland earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Liberty University. Dr. Strickland comes to Piedmont Middle School after having served as Assistant Principal for East Union Middle School, Forest Hills High School, and Piedmont High School.

Dr. Strickland is married to Steve Strickland and they have two sons, Vassar and Mathis. Both Vassar and Mathis graduated from Piedmont High School and are pursuing their bachelor degrees from the schools of their choice. Joining the Piedmont Middle School family is a continuation of the years Dr. Strickland spent as a parent and an administrator in the cluster. Her husband, Steve, is the middle school pastor at First Baptist Church Indian Trail. Dr. Strickland enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, reading, and running.
