Mrs. Kristen Klein
Mrs. Klein was born and raised in Hermitage, Pennsylvania, just north of Pittsburgh. She graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Klein moved to North Carolina in 1995 to become a teacher with Union County Public Schools. During her teaching career, she taught First Grade for two years and Second Grade for six years. While teaching, she received a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Wingate University. In 2003, Mrs. Klein was awarded a scholarship with the North Carolina Principal Fellows Program and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Master's in Administration and Curriculum. Upon completion of an internship at Indian Trail Elementary School, Mrs. Klein served one year as the Assistant Principal at Marvin Elementary. She also spent three years as an Assistant Principal at New Town Elementary when it opended its doors in 2007. Mrs. Klein came to Weddington Elementary after serving four successful years as the Assistant Principal at Rocky River Elementary.
Currently in her sixth year as the Principal of Weddington Elementary, Mrs. Klein is excited about the growth in learning the Wildcats continue to exhibit. Weddington Elementary School continues to be one of the highest performing elementary schools in the state. Mrs. Klein attributes the achievements to the hard work and dedication of all staff members along with the support of the Weddington stakeholders.

Mrs. Klein currently resides in Waxhaw with her husband, Jeff, and their children, Mason, Morgan, and Braeden. Mrs. Klein and her family find the most enjoyment spending time together at home with their dogs, going to the beach, and traveling to see family. She also currently serves on the Advisory Board for the North Carolina State Employees’ Credit Union.
