Mrs. Merritt is excited to begin her second year as Assistant principal at Marshville Elementary.  She loves the rich history of the  community, the students, and the families that make up Marshville Elementary.

Mrs.  Merritt received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2007, with a concentration in English and Communications and her Master’s degree in Reading and Literacy also form UNCC in 2014.  She received her Educational Leadership Add-On Degree from Wingate University in May 2018.

Lindsay has had the opportunity to teach across North Carolina,  in Macon County, Rowan Salisbury Schools, and Cabarrus County, before coming to UCPS as an Instructional Coach for the Elementary Education Department.  Lindsay has had the opportunity to present professional development at the North Carolina State Reading Conference, Collaborate on several published books through Corwin publishers, as well as teach for a day in Brooklyn, NY through the Columbia University Teachers College.

Lindsay grew up in Union County and now resides in Midland with her husband Andrew, and her 3 beautiful children, Lilly (9), Landry (5) both students at Marshville Elementary, and Finleigh (3). She enjoys traveling to places with a rich history, as well as spending time with her family and volunteering at several outreach partnerships.
