Mrs. Elizabeth Allen, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Elizabeth Allen one of three assistant principals at Parkwood Middle, earned her bachelor’s in Secondary Education, English Language Arts from Appalachian State University. After teaching English and being the AVID Coordinator at Shelby High School for six years, she chose to pursue her master’s in School Administration from UNCC through the NC Principal Fellows program.
Mrs. Allen did her Administrative Internship at East Rutherford High School in Rutherford County, then became an assistant principal at Spindale Elementary in Rutherford County. She has always been passionate about supporting teachers, and of her job here at Parkwood, Mrs. Allen states “I am thrilled to be able to work with middle school students. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn new things from these students. I am also very excited to be a part of the wonderful things happening at Parkwood Middle and seeing what other accomplishments are ahead.”
Mrs. Allen is an avid reader of Young Adult literature – her favorites being the Harry Potter and Twilight series, both of which she has read several times. Aside from reading, Mrs. Allen loves to travel and has been France, Italy, and Spain. While there, she was able to enjoy one of her other hobbies, being “a foodie.” She enjoys trying all kinds of different (and sometimes strange) foods.
Most recently, Mrs. Allen and her husband welcomed their first child to the family. Her son, Asher, is inquisitive and already quite “talkative”.
