Jessica Conklin

Mrs. Conklin joined Unionville Elementary School in 2017, following four years of service with Anson County Schools, four years of service teaching in an independent school district in Ohio, and two years of service teaching with Hoke County Schools here in North Carolina. Her career began at Rockfish Hoke Elementary, where she taught Kindergarten for two years, before taking an opportunity to move to Ohio to teach Kindergarten there. She taught Kindergarten in Ohio for four years, and then moved back to her hometown in North Carolina to begin her family and plant her roots.

Mrs. Conklin grew up in Anson County and graduated from Anson High School. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of East Carolina in Elementary Education with a specialization in teaching reading K-12. This specialty area informs her leadership and teaching approach, as she views literacy as the foundation of academic progress. Mrs. Conklin was awarded the North Carolina Principal Fellows scholarship and earned her master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2018.

Mrs. Conklin views a collaborative school environment as the key to creating successful teachers and students. She believes partnerships with parents and community stakeholders are essential to enriching the experience at Unionville Elementary.

During her free time, Mrs. Conklin enjoys reading, making memories with her husband and their two boys, taking family beach trips, and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Conklin is looking forward to being an integral part of the success of Unionville Elementary this year!
