• Available Clubs

    • Battle of the Books: Students compete to answer questions from the 2016-2017 Battle of the Books list.  This club meets before school once a week and is sponsored by our Media Coordinator, Lisa Chapman.
    • BETA: An academic based club, BETA Club is open to 8th graders who meet certain academic requirements.  Students who are in BETA Club meet periodically after school and participate in the BETA Club Convention in February. Our sponsors are Ms. Lowery and Mr. Stanford
    • Chorus: Students must be enrolled in the 7th Grade Semester Chorus Class or the Year-Long 8th Grade Chorus class to participate.  Directed by Mr. NeSmith, Chorus students perform a spring and winter concert.  They also travel to events such as "Real Men Sing", "All-County", and to perform at our elementary schools.
    • Drama: Our Drama Department puts on several productions a year and is sponsored by our Drama teacher, Ms. DePietro. Students must audition to be involved in our shows, but do not have to be in Drama class.  You can visit the PWMS Theatre Website for more information.
    • Girls on the Run: The Girls on the Run program is present in many Union County Public Schools and offers girls the opportunity to improve their physical health.  It also offers a safe, comfortable environment for girls to learn confidence and how to be positive role models.     • History Bowl: History Bowl is an 8th grade academic competition team that participates in the History Bowl at Reid Goldmine each year. Contact Mr. Stanford for more information.
    • Math 24 Club Continuing to help children sharpen basic math skills such as computation, problem solving, number sense, critical thinking, and pattern sensing. This game is helping to create a new generation of students become critical thinkers and problem solvers.sponsored by Mrs. Melton 
    • Production Crew: Production crew is for 8th grade students. These students are responsible for a live news broadcast each morning.  Selection is an application, interview and teacher recommendation process.  Crew selection is in the Spring of 7th grade year so students can be trained for the upcoming school year.     • YCI (Youth Commission International)
    • Yearbook:  This is a year long course.  The students learn photography skills and create our PWMS yearbook. Class is chosen by application and teacher recommendation.  Club sponsored by Mr. Stanford   
    •  Robotics Leah Rothrock  teacher advisor.  Students build robots to complete various challenges; students also compete at the countywide robotics competition demonstrating their skill
    • Science Olympiad:  A club oriented around building student interest in Science. Science Olympiad is an American team competition in which students compete in 'events' pertaining to various scientific disciplines, including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering.  Club sponsors  Jordan Marmara Mark Moore
