The National Beta Club has been in existence since 1934. The National Beta Club has a motto that states, "Let Us Lead By Serving Others." The Beta Club at Weddington High School has been committed to helping our school and community throughout the year. As a club, we seek members who demonstrate dedication to serve in our community and who strive for academic excellence. We choose students based on their leadership qualities, grades, recommendations and personal essays. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors who have an unweighted GPA of a 3.8 or higher will be invited to join Beta Club in January. There are monthly meetings to attend and service projects to complete.
Distributive Education Club of America - An association of Marketing students which compliments the different Marketing classes offered. Students have the opportunity to participate in many activities throughout the year such as: district, state and national competitions, fund-raisers, leadership opportunities, socials/meetings and community service events. DECA has over 200,000 members in the United States and eight other countries.
Pat Kowalo Drama Club
Drama Club produces several live productions a year as well as offers other educational theatrical activities. Drama Club promotes high standards in performance, academics, behavior and entertainment as well as encourages positive relationships between students, faculty and the public. Maria Moore Dream Team
Engineering Club The Engineering Club at Weddington provides its members with an opportunity to design and program robots built from VEX structural materials. Teams are encouraged to compete in the two robotic tournaments sponsored by Union County. A WHS Engineering Club team won the Union County Robotic Challenge in April 2016.
FBLA Future Business Leaders of America -FBLA brings business and education together through regional, state and national business competitions and innovative leadership, service and social activities.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address issues involving family, work and societal issues. Any student who has taken a course in Family and Consumer Sciences is eligible for active membership. FCCLA has participated in activities involving March of Dimes, Habitat for Humanity, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Turning Point and other community organizations and support services in the Weddington community.
FFA National FFA Organization makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. The Weddington FFA Chapter prides itself on competitive events and leadership related to agriculture.

French Club French Club is designed for students who want to show their love of the French language and meet other students who share this passion. We have two main fundraisers each year to promote the club and show the rest of the school our love for France. Brooke Souther FHS is a nationally recognized club and is designed to promote the study of the French language and reward academic achievement. Students who have maintained an A average in French 1 and 2, and at least a B average in French 3 are invited to join the club.
German Club Open to all students! Allows members to participate in team activities that build lasting friendships while exploring further depth into the German language. Club meets 1st semester only . Wesley Kennedy History Honor Society The purpose of the History Honors Society is to promote the study of History and Social Studies at Weddington High School. We aim to create a society for the highest achieving students that have a love for History.
International Thespian Society ITS is an honor society for those that have shown consistent excellence in the high school theatre setting. Maria Moore Key Club Weddington Key Club is a service organization that participates with both local charities and national organizations by providing help and support to others. Service projects are coordinated by club officers but individual acts of charity are also recognized. Kelly Lepsig Literary Society WHS Literary Society strives to promote and foster a love of reading in unison with discussion, collaboration, and community service and involvement. WHS Literary Society provides a welcoming, accepting environment for all WHS students to share and develop their passion towards reading various genres of literary works. Club members spread their love of reading with the school community and the surrounding local community by pairing with schools nearby for various events. Marisa DiFronzo Mentor Club The Weddington Mentor Club works with the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Monroe to provide tutoring, mentoring and friendship to their participates each week. Catherine McCloskey Midnight Club Kelly Lepsig Mu Alpha Theta Mu Alpha Theta is a national math honor society. This is Weddington's Mathematics Honor Society for high-achieving students who have completed Algebra 2 and above. Students participate in service hours by tutoring peers in math and participating in math contests. They positively promote and celebrate math in the school.
National Art Honor Society The purpose of NAHS is to provide avenues for recognition of the artistic talents and leadership roles for visual art students, while spotlighting the success and community work of Weddington's art program. Glory Soto-Marcellini National English Honor Society
National Honor Society National Honor Society is composed of 11th and 12th grade students who maintain a weighted 4.0 or higher GPA. Members must complete at least four hours of community service per month, and members are required to actively participate in all required club events and whole-group service projects. Members are selected through an application process held in the fall of each school year. Applicants are evaluated in four areas: scholarship, character, leadership, and service.
Photography The Photography Club promotes the growth of creativity and art through the WHS community. The Club is open to all WHS students who want to take part in monthly photo contests and to contribute to the WHS Yearbook. Social Buddies Lori Wallace Spanish Club Spanish Club strives to promote Spanish culture in our community through our members and their eagerness to share, express and project who they are with people from all over the world. Adam Brown Spanish Honor Society This is an honor society that recognizes students for their high achievement in Spanish and their continuing efforts to learn the language and about the culture. Student Government Student Government oversees many WHS student events. Coined "STUGO", the club links the students' ideas and needs to the faculty and administration. STUGO serves as the student body's eyes, ears, and voice.

This is a club targeted towards students with an interest in any type of medical field. Students participate in volunteer activities such as Ronald McDonald House and sending supplies to soldiers stationed overseas. Open to all students.
