EPIC Grant

  • Updated 2021-22 EPIC documents are now available at the bottom of this page.

In 2017 Union County Public Schools received a three-year $27 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Teacher and School Leader (TSL) Incentive Program. The grant will provide funding to support, train, and reward excellent teachers and school leaders. UCPS was one of only 14 school districts in the country, and the only district in the state, to receive the three-year TSL grant. In September of 2020, UCPS became one of only four of the 2017 TSL grantees to receive an additional two years of funding from the U.S. Department of Education.

Through a program called Educator Performance Incentive and Career Pathways (EPIC), 13 high-priority UCPS schools will use the funding to implement a performance-based compensation system that promotes more effective teaching and school leadership.
