• A Note About the Daily DJ:

The original “DAILY DJ” began in March of 2020 as an outlet for the faculty and staff of Monroe High School to build community and bridge the distance caused by the pandemic. We missed our students, colleagues, and school but were making the most of a difficult situation. What started as a music playlist morphed into a compilation of faculty/staff autobiographies with music lists, song explanations, dedications and tributes to lost loved ones. As English teachers, we decided this would be an excellent way to create a meaningful autobiographical writing assignment for our students while simultaneously spotlighting our seniors and building a playlist they could share with each other, their families, friends and the community.

Each day one or more seniors will be highlighted and their autobiographies and song choices will be featured on our school website. The Daily DJs will be announced each morning during school announcements and the day’s DJs songs will be played in our school cafeteria. Senior song lists for the week will be added each Sunday night onto the Spotify playlist titled, “Monroe High School Class of 2021.” Go to the Daily DJ Autobiographies page for the link to the playlist.

Friday will be deemed, “Faculty Friday” and an autobiography and song list from a faculty member will be featured. However, this is the Class of 2021’s playlist and the faculty member’s songs will not be added to the Senior Spotify playlist. If you are a senior who has already fulfilled your English IV requirement for graduation and would like to be included in the Senior “Daily DJ” please contact Ms. Robinson in room 121. I would like to thank Mrs. Batchelor, Miss Burtis, Dr. Lenis, Mrs. Smith, and Ms. Meckes in advance for their tireless efforts and assistance with this project for our Seniors.

    All the best,
