- PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention System.
- What is PBIS?
- The goal for this plan is to help students become successful by instilling a positive attitude regarding behavior and academics. PBIS is based on learning rather than punishment. Students are expected to be responsible for their own actions in spite of the actions of others.
- What are the expectations for students?
- There is a "PACK" matrix that has our expectations clearly defined. It is our vision that each student, within the first couple of weeks at school, will learn and practice what is on the matrix. PACK stands for Participate, Act safely, Cooperate, and be Kind. We hope students at Indian Trail will strive to be PACK leaders this year!
- PACK Rewards
- There will be numerous ways that students and staff will be recognized for their efforts and hard work. Please check back regularly to find out more about the PBIS program.

Indian Trail Elementary School is a Leader in Me School
The Leader in Me is a whole-school transformation model that is based on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People®, a concept developed by leadership expert, Dr. Stephen R. Covey. "The Leader in Me produces transformational results such as higher academic achievement, fewer discipline problems, and increased engagement among teachers and parents. Better yet, The Leader in Me equips students with the self-confidence and skills they need to thrive in the 21st century economy."
