Rea View Elementary School NC Report Card
Dear Rea View Families:
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about North Carolina's School Accountability Program and Rea View Elementary School.
We provide regular updates to you about your student's academic progress by sending home a report card. Once a year we provide you with updates on our school's achievements through the North Carolina School Report Card. North Carolina School Report Cards include important information about school and student performance, class size, attendance, school safety, instructional resources, and teacher quality. Report data is available for our school district and for the state's education system as a whole. Our school's full Report Card can be found on the NC School Report Cards' website at http://www.ncreportcards.org.
At Rea View, our overall performance composite (% of students scoring 3, 4, or 5) for the reading, math and science tests given in grades 3-5 remains at 93% while our College Career Ready composite (% of students scoring 4 or 5) remains at 88%. Our overall science score remains at 95% profiency. Our overall growth points earned gives us a rating of "met growth" for the 2016-17 school year. This is a very solid showing for our school in the state's Ready Accountability program, and we will work diligently to show steady growth from this new baseline that has been established.
The numbers tell only part of the story. At our school, we are proud of the dedication of our staff, students and parents. We are a school that embraces the importance of staff development to grow our teachers and give them the tools they need to ensure the success of our students. Teachers have been provided an opportunity for growth through curriculum support staff, curriculum consultants, and book studies. Our teachers also participate in student centered meetings to utilize the strength of various personnel to ensure the growth of all students.
We have chosen to improve our students' learning experience even further by honoring their curiosity and have begun to use inquiry learning as part of our academic focus. We are also focused on nurturing strong character traits by practicing the 7Habits of Happy Kids and Mindset (especiall growth mindset) work.
Relationships, partnership and positive communication among staff, students and parents are of utmost importance to our continued success. Working together, the Rea View community has achieved many successes and we will build upon these in our quest for continuous improvement. Thank you for supporting our efforts to provide all children at Rea View with an engaging and challenging educational experience in a positive and nurturing environment.
