Sun Valley Middle School NC Report Card

  •  Dear Sun Valley Middle School Families and Community,

Sun Valley Middle School is located in the heart of the Sun Valley Cluster of schools in Indian Trail, North Carolina.  We currently serve approximately 1,215 students.

At Sun Valley Middle, we strongly believe that each child is unique. At our school we are proud to share that 100% of teachers are classified as Highly Qualified professionals. Professional development is being provided to our staff throughout the school year to enhance and develop literacy-rich, challenging, and rigorous learning environments that focus on real-life connections. We have a dynamic blend of seasoned and beginning teachers, along with quality administrators, who are instrumental to our school’s success.

Sun Valley Middle School has implemented 21st Century instructional techniques that integrate technology and other resources to prepare our students for a globally competitive world. As a part of the Leadership Cluster, SVMS is studying the '7 Habits of Effective Teens' by Sean Covey. We are excited about helping our students continue to develop strong leadership skills that will carry them to become active participating adults in our community.

North Carolina’s school READY accountability program provides important information about our schools, however, these numbers only tell part of our story. This Report Card includes important information about school and student performance, class sizes, attendance, school safety, instructional resources, and teacher quality.

Sun Valley Middle School is committed to continuous improvement.  In order to measure growth and improvement our staff uses a framework called Continuous Classroom Improvement that sets clear learning objectives and analyzes growth along the way.  We believe that building on student strengths leads to improvement in all areas.  We believe that each student will show growth socially, emotionally and academically through quality teaching, learning and relationships.

Sun Valley Middle School is a place that values diversity, learning and personal growth. The Sun Valley Middle School students and staff demonstrate passion and commitment to make a positive difference in our community. This is evident in the various clubs that are student-led and teacher sponsored. Our phenomenal Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and area businesses have also partnered with us to support this fulfilling work.

At Sun Valley Middle School, we want our students’ parents and families to be informed about the school’s progress in order to be more involved in the school on a regular basis.  Thank you for your continued commitment to your student’s education. We look forward to another year as we serve the needs of our students, families, and stakeholders.
