Weddington High School NC Report Card
Dear Weddington High School Stakeholders,
We are pleased to present our annual North Carolina School Report for the 2016-2017 school year. I encourage you to review this informative document. The NC School Report Card is just one component of the state’s efforts to increase student achievement. In reviewing the report card, you will find information regarding student performance on state testing, class size, school safety, and teacher qualifications. This information also provides opportunities for reflection in regard to our school’s strengths and weaknesses.
Through teamwork, commitment, and hard work, Weddington High School was awarded a School Performance Grade of A and Exceeded Growth Expectations as determined by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. WHS stakeholders collaborated to help us meet 100% of the Annual Measurable Objectives for the 2016-2017 school year. Our levels of achievement and high graduation rate are some of the highest in our great state.
I am very proud of our students, staff, and community for their hard work and of the culture of excellence that we have established here at the home of the Warriors. Students at Weddington High School outperformed their peers in the district and across North Carolina on state administered exams and achieved overall gains on their EOC's, Cohort Graduation Rate, ACT, SAT, and Work Keys composite scores. Additionally, in 2017, Weddington High School was recognized as having one of the highest graduation rates in the state of North Carolina among schools with a cohort size of 300 to 399. We are working hard to continue holding students to high expectations, supporting them along the way, and celebrating their successes when they achieve their goals.
Thank you for your continued support of Weddington High School. Together we will continue to demonstrate pride in our students’ paths to excellence.
Dr. Jay Jones
