Wesley Chapel Elementary School NC Report Card
Dear Wesley Chapel Parents and Friends,
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about North Carolina's school accountability program and Wesley Chapel Elementary School. Although a federal waiver was approved for the 2020-21 school year, schools across the State of North Carolina still had to administer all state-required assessments. Visit the North Carolina School Report Card website to access all assessment and other school information. NC School Report Cards
Our students last completed NC end of grade tests at the end of the 2018-19 school year. Therefore, the 2020-21 results are for comparison purposes only.
While we never like to see a dip in results, the comparative data for our school is super! Our students who performed on or above grade level on the 2020-21 end of grade tests is only 4.4% less than in 2018-19! This percentage is better than the majority of all elementary schools. Across North Carolina, schools were 13.2% lower. Even when comparing our specific grade levels and tested subjects, our students outperformed the state average in all accountability indicators.
I attribute this success to our students, parents, and teachers working together during an extremely challenging school year in 2020-21.
The faculty and administration of Wesley Chapel Elementary School are committed to making a difference in the lives of our students. In order to maximize student growth and individual success, each child receives instruction based on their current academic level. This is accomplished by providing our students with high quality core instruction, intervention/remediation sessions, SEL classes and events, small group and individual instruction, math problem solving sessions, and opportunities to be leaders. We strive to provide a comprehensive instructional program, monitor students' progress, and communicate with parents on a regular basis to maintain student success.
As a PBIS school, students are recognized for individual growth and success through the Terrific Kids program, Honor Roll recognitions, Flight Cards, the Spelling Bee, and positive office referrals. While still dealing with the challenges of COVID, we are slowly returning to offering extracurricular activities for our students.
Our strong Parent/Teacher Organization is very active and makes Wesley Chapel Elementary a better place to learn, grow, and thrive. They host spirit nights, provide special recognition through awards and other activities, lead fundraising efforts, organize parent/student events, help fund instructional materials and safety initiatives, and provide teacher celebrations and appreciations. Volunteers assist in various ways throughout the school to support our students.
The Wesley Chapel Eagles are working together with our school community and parents to nurture student growth and development each day. The faculty and staff at Wesley Chapel appreciate collaborating with our school community and parents as we prepare our students for present and future successes! Our Eagles soar to great heights!
