Media Center

  • Mission:

The media center at WUES Elementary School is an open environment for students and staff, focusing on communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.  Reading, research, technology, and inquiry are supported by the media center teacher through teaching and collaborating with students and teachers. Love of literacy is encouraged each day as students are exposed to quality children’s literature and active engagement with books.

    Scheduling and Resources

Flexible scheduling provides continuous access to materials and resources. With over 16,000 cataloged resources, all who enter the hub of the school find a wealth of knowledge at their fingertips. We strive to create a warm, welcoming, safe, and relaxing environment conducive to conducting research, browsing for books, scanning the internet, tutoring services, teaching classes, or simply reading a good book.

Our volunteers are an integral part of the inner workings of the Media Center. We deeply appreciate their time and efforts, whether it be a small or large amount of time. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Media Center staff at 704-296-6355 or send a note to the Media Center.
