Cougar Council, PTSO
We plan together, we work together and our children will succeed together
The Cougar Council is Central Academy's Parent-Teacher-Student Organization (PTSO) and was founded in October 2007. The PTSO works to support the teachers, administrators and students. Please join us! We provide teacher appreciation luncheons and celebrate their birthdays monthly, recognize student achievements, offer scholarships to seniors, and recognize our bus drivers, custodial, and lunch staff.
We raise funds to supplement educational needs at the school. In 2014 we added a committee to support the specific needs of the Performing Arts Academy. One goal of this committee was to raise enough funds to purchase a new piano and they met this goal!
We also held the first Invest In Excellence Campaign - a write a check fund raiser that donated funds and resources to each Academy in the school. The 2016 Invest In Excellence Campaign has begun! Look for information to come home with your student or print the form that's in the Cougar Chronicle.
We encourage all parents/guardians to join the PTSO. The donation for membership is $10.00 per year. Your donation supports the work we do throughout the year. Membership will place you on an active mailing list/sign up genius to receive up to date information on how you can help at the school. We have a great time working together to help make CATA the best school in the county!
Join us whenever you are free, there is always something fun to do! Email to learn more and get involved! Our next meeting dates are:Tuesday, September 5 at 6:00 PM in the Media Center.
