  • Parents, our Marvin Elementary Fun Run is TOMORROW! We’re inviting YOU to come cheer on your students as they run 30-35 laps to help our school. Our Fun Run will take place on the field and the run times per grade will be as follows: K/1st - 10:30-11:30 a.m. | 2nd/3rd - 11:30-12:30 a.m. | 4th/5th - 12:30-1:30  Thanks for all your support and can’t wait to see you there! Go Mustangs!!

  • Realignment Draft Maps

    Community members can view drafts of realignment maps at three Union County libraries. The maps will be available at the Monroe, Union West and Waxhaw branches throughout the realignment process. The draft maps will still be accessible from the Student Realignment Citizens Advisory Committee webpage, which can be accessed from the UCPS website at www.ucps.k12.nc.us.   • Fifth Graders Explore Wilmington, NC

    On November 15th, the fifth graders set off for their annual overnight field trip to Wilmington, NC. While there, students saw their recent Ecosystems science unit come to life during a hands-on Ocean Studies program on Masonboro Island where students caught crabs, hunted for seashells, and learned about the plants and animals that inhabit the island.

  • First Grade Learns to Cook

    During the week of November 6th our first graders were busy making bread. Our students learned that a recipe was another kind of informational text. The lesson also integrated science, social studies, math and social skills. It was hands on and engaging! The best part of it was that is was also fun and yummy!

  • First Graders Visit with Charlotte Firefighters

    On October 12th the first grade was honored to have firefighters from the Charlotte Fire Department visit for Fire Safety Month. The firefighters talked about fire safety, gear, and planning escape routes.
