School Updates

  • Chromebook Collection June 2-6, 2025

Students will turn in their Chromebooks and charger to the Media Center at the end of the year. Students will need to check with their teachers to verify if they are finished with all testing and assignments before turning them in.

If there are damages, a statement MUST be filled out and handed in with the Chromebook. The county will assess damages and fines.

SPCC students can have their Chromebook and charger checked in and out between May 19th to May 23rd. Check your email from Mrs. Brown as that is your pass.

All other students will turn in their Chromebooks after their last exam. If you do not have any exams, you will turn your Chromebook and charger in on the last day you are in school. Make sure that you have both your Chromebook and your charger or you will receive a fee.

Any Chromebook not returned or checked out (SPCC) will be locked.

  • Notes from the Nurse

Rising 12th graders please see below.

We would like to inform you of the North Carolina Immunization Rules and Laws. A second dose of Meningococcal conjugate vaccine is required for students attending school in North Carolina who are entering the 12th grade. For complete details and explanations, please review the website https://immunize.nc.gov/schools/ncruleslaws.htm for NC general statutes 130A-157.

The meningococcal B vaccine does not count as part of the requirement. Please review your child’s immunization record to see if the second vaccine dose has been given. There will be a total of two (2) doses. If not, make an appointment with your primary care provider to have this done as soon as possible. You may also make an appointment with the Union County Health Department at 704-296-4800 for your child to obtain the required vaccine.

If your child has had the second meningococcal conjugate vaccine, please make sure you send a copy of their immunization record to the school nurse. Upon completion of the vaccines, please provide your school with a copy of your child’s updated immunization record. Students who remain non-compliant with this requirement after 30 days from the start of the school year are to be excluded from school.

If you have questions or concerns regarding this requirement, please consult with your health care provider. You may also contact your school nurse.
