    Congratulations to Matthew Brame who won the Spelling Bee! Matthew is a fourth grade student in Mr. Vidal’s class. Matthew is also in his fifth year of the Dual Immersion program. A’Kheri McDaniel, a fifth student in Mrs. Whited’s class, was the runner-up.

  • From Bee Bots to Student Robots: Poplin is celebrating Computer Science Education Week!

    Computer Science Education Week is this week, December 3 - 7, 2018. Poplin’s STEAM/Global Studies Teacher, Brooke Richmond, and Beth Medlin, Poplin’s Media Coordinator, have teamed up together to teach computer science to the whole school. Every class in every grade will take part in the activities.

  • Community Totem Pole Dedicated

    The Community Totem Pole was dedicated during a reception on Saturday, November 17, 2018. Students now in sixth grade at Porter Ridge Middle School and current Poplin students who worked on the project were invited along with their families to attend an unveiling of the project. During the dedication Mrs. Helms said, “I feel that it truly represents our community, not only in subject and sentiment, but also in the process.”

  • Welcome Mr. Watts!

    Mr. Randal Watts comes to Poplin from New Town Elementary where he worked in several roles. He started his career in education at Sun Valley High School as a science teacher for ten years.
