Good evening, Piedmont families-
Below you will find our weekly updates and reminders.
SENIOR INFORMATION NIGHT: The Piedmont High School Counseling Department will be hosting a Senior Information Night next Tuesday, September 19 at 5:30 p.m. in the Piedmont High School cafeteria. All seniors and their parents are encouraged to attend to find out more information regarding two and four-year college application processes, FAFSA financial aid information, letters of recommendation, resumes, and the different ways we hope to best support seniors during this school year as they make post-secondary plans. If you have any questions or concerns, please call Piedmont High at 704-296-3170.
STUDENT DROP-OFF: We ask all parents to continue to utilize Love Mill Rd. (Football Stadium) as the only student drop-off and pick-up location. When dropping students off in the morning, please pull all the way down the drop-off line. Do not stop at the Gym Lobby doors to drop your student off. By pulling all the way forward in the drop-off line, we are able to move cars through the line more rapidly.
ATHLETIC/EVENT VENUE EXPECTATIONS: For the safety of all visitors, Piedmont High will not allow bags, beverage containers, or outside food/beverage containers into our athletic or event venues. Small pocketbooks are acceptable. School personnel will require you to leave all items in your car. Secure all items in your vehicle prior to entering the stadium or event venue. Re-entry will only be allowed with the purchase of a new, unused ticket. However, administration and law enforcement have the right to refuse re-entry to any spectator. Understand that these policies are necessary to provide a safe environment for all patrons. Failure to comply with our policies will result in removal from the event.
PROGRESS REPORTS: While some teachers may provide individual progress report, Piedmont High will not send full paper copies home. All grades are in PowerSchool and should be up-to-date. If you have questions regarding your student's academic performance, please contact the individual teacher to discuss.
UCPS TECHNOLOGY FEE: UCPS has implemented a $30 tech fee for all students. We still have many students who have not paid the new technology fee for the 2023-2024 school year. You may pay online (Piedmont High Tech Fee Link) or at the school by cash or check. If you qualify for free and reduced lunch, you will receive a tech fee waiver once you have submitted a copy of the lunch approval letter to our Bookkeeper, Gini Wilson.
STUDENT BREAKFAST & LUNCH: The federal waiver granting all students free breakfast and lunch has expired. We encourage all families to complete the free/reduced lunch form found here: https://www.lunchapplication.com. If students have not been approved for free/reduced lunch, they are expected to pay for their lunch until they are approved. Families are able to pre-pay for lunch accounts and check student balances using the K12 Payment Center website found here: https://www.k12paymentcenter.com/.
As always, thank you for your support of Piedmont High School. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Piedmont High at 704-296-3170.

Good evening, Piedmont Families-
This week, the North Carolina Department of Instruction released school performance grades for the 2022-2023 school year. I am pleased to report Piedmont High is once again a "B" school. Many factors go into the school performance grade, including academic indicators and student growth. Our academic performance placed us in the top 4 for traditional high schools in Union County. Our student growth exceeded expectations and also placed us in the top 4 for traditional high schools in Union County. Our student growth score of +4.52 places us in the top 15% of all schools, regardless of grade level, in the state of North Carolina. I am super proud of the work our faculty and students put in to make this happen. I look forward to another great academic year at Piedmont High. Below you will find weekly updates and reminders.
