Canine Club Raises Funds for K-9 Vests

The Canine Club with the administration present the Sheriff's Office with a check for over $1,000. In early November Canine Club organized lunch time change collections to raise money for the Union County Sheriff’s Canine Unit to help purchase protective gear.

Money was collected by grade level and with a frenzy of donations on the last day, the freshman class emerged as the class with the highest amount donated.

On Thursday November 29th the Canine Club held a special meeting to present the Union County Sheriff’s Office with the money collected during the Change Competition.

Sheriff Eddie Cathey and members of the Union County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit along with Darko, one of the canines who works for the Sheriff’s Office, were all special guests for the presentation. T

he Canine Club was very excited to present the Sheriff’s Office with a check for over a thousand dollars to help purchase protective gear for canines. Canine Club is so thankful to all the students at CATA who donated to help make the fundraiser a success!
