Science Olympiad The Science Olympiad Club from CHS participated in the regional Science Olympiad competition last weekend and the Cavs rocked it! The Science Olympiad Club is made up of a great group of students under the guidance of Biology teacher Mrs. Jennifer Wells-Lewis. This club fosters learning and challenges each student to put forth their best efforts.

Participants of Science Olympiad competitions include Daisy Magnum, Janice Cheuk, Emilia Miller, Sofia Miller, Matthew Tian, Jonathan Tian, Trey Austin, Evan Augone, Sarah Austin, Yasmin Walton, Haley Schierlmann, Camryn Williams, Ainsley Ogletree and Chloe Allen.

Here is a list of their final placing at regionals:

According to Mrs. Wells-Lewis, students can join the Science Olympiad Club in the fall and meet bi-weekly. Once they commit to the club they choose the events they would like to participate in.  The events cover all disciplines of science and range from hands-on to testing. The students work through the year on their event and then the regional competition takes place in March where the students show off what they learn. 2

“This year our students did an awesome job!” said Mrs. Wells-Lewis. Congratulations to the Science Olympiad and good luck at the state competition!
