Several of our FFA members competed in the Federation Truck and Tractor Safety and Skills Career Development Event at Forest Hills High School on Thursday, November 14, 2019. Members competing in truck driving were Hope Hanson, Connor Hargett, Walker Eanes and Karson Kee.
In the Truck Safety and Skills competition, students drive a farm truck forward through an obstacle course and then back through the same course. The student with the least cones hit and the fastest time wins. The team took first place in the Federation with Karson Kee being the high scoring individual in the federation. Students competing in Tractor Safety and Skills are expected to safely drive through an obstacle course with a trailer connected to a tractor.
The goal is for teams and individuals to have the least amount of faults. Members on the Senior tractor team were Brandon Wey, Dylan Notaro and TJ Lyons. The senior team took first place in the federation with Brandon Wey as the high scoring individual in the federation.
Members on the Junior tractor team were Ryan Smith, Ian Madsen, and Nick Sholar and placed 4th. Karson Kee and Brandon Wey will go on to compete in the state level competition in February at NC State.
Congratulations to these Cuthbertson FFA members!
