FFA Members Participate in Vet Science CDE

Vet CDE The Cuthbertson FFA Chapter participated in the State FFA Vet Science Career Development Event on November 23, 2019, at Lee County High School, in cooperation with the Veterinary Technician Program at Central Carolina Community College, in Sanford, NC. Team members included Mia Sulkey, Maya Gaziano, T.J. Lyons, and Kaitlynn Clemente.  Their FFA Adviser is Mr. Ben Shumate.

The team placed 6th in the state out of approximately 65 teams. The team ranked 2nd in the southwest region. Congratulations to these members!

“Through participation, members gain and strengthen career skills,” says Jason Davis, State FFA coordinator for North Carolina. The Vet Science CDE participants demonstrate their knowledge in all facets of veterinary science from breed and parasite identification to clinical and handling practicums.

The North Carolina FFA is a youth organization of 20,472 student members preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture with 321 local chapters across the state.
