Cavs Support Samaritan's Feet
The CHS FCA is ready to kick off its annual Samaritan’s Feet Shoes of Hope fundraiser from February 3-7. Samaritan’s Feet strives to provide shoes for needy children around the world. Since its founding in 2003, Samaritan’s Feet and its partners have distributed over 7 million pairs of shoes in 108 countries and 395 U.S. cities. For many it was the first pair of shoes ever owned.
The Samaritan’s Feet website states: “Samaritan’s Feet shares hope with children in the U.S. and around the world by washing their feet, giving them a new pair of shoes, and helping them believe that their dreams can come true. We at Samaritan’s Feet believe that a new pair of shoes can be a tangible foundation of hope to a person in need.”
During the week of February 3-7, FCA club members will be selling paper feet cutouts during lunches that will be taped to walls around the school.
At the Varsity Basketball games against Parkwood on February 7th, all the coaches will be coaching “barefoot for bare feet” to help raise awareness. At that game the club will be selling the paper feet cutouts, walking through the bleachers collecting donations, and doing half court shots at halftime during the games. We are very excited that Parkwood is joining with us for this great cause!
Samaritan’s Feet delivers shoes to children in many countries including the Philippines, Kenya, Colombia, Haiti, Honduras, India, Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua. The CHS FCA has set this year’s donation goal at $1000 which would provide 100 pairs of shoes.
