CHS Holds Class of 2020 Commencement

Grads Cuthbertson High School was proud and excited to hold its 2020 Commencement exercises on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 8:00am. Over 400 seniors graduated in the ceremony held at Cavalier Stadium on the CHS campus.

Guests packed both sets of bleachers socially distanced in the morning sun to watch the first ever outdoor graduation at Cavalier Stadium. 

Senior Class President Abby Pallant opened the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The National Anthem was sung by CHS Senior Olivia Grocott.

Student Body Vice President Alexis Gonzalez introduced Principal Jeff Stout who gave the welcome.

National Honor Society President Carrie Roth introduced the special guests. From the Union County Public Schools Board of Education, Kathy Heintel and Todd Price; Union County Public Schools Chief of Human Resources and Financial Services Shanna McLamb; Union County Public Schools Chief Technology Officer Jay Parker; and our speaker (as well as CHS parent) Jason Harper, Fox 46 Good Day Charlotte co-anchor.

Student Body President Maiya Hayes gave the Senior class welcome.

Assistant Principal Marilyn Monteith recognized areas of Academic Achievement inviting students, their parents, and the advising teachers of each area to stand.

CHS Assistant Principal Andy Brooks presented diplomas.

At the conclusion of the ceremony graduates took one last lap around the track as parents and guests cheered them on.
