In recognition of National Bullying Prevention Month, and in our efforts to promote kindness and self confdience CMS students were able to experience the"You Matter" tour featuring Casey McQuillen on Tuesday, October 23rd. Students were both entertained and engaged by her story, her music, and her personal struggles with self confidence.
A native of Boston, currently living in New York City, Casey McQuillen has been busy. From graduating Berklee College of Music, to gaining international attention on TV as a power house vocalist on Season 13 of American Idol, to accumulating tens of thousands of followers on social media and millions of views and streams of her music online, she’s accomplished a lot in her short career. And it is just the beginning. Casey founded her school anti-bullying concert series, The "You Matter" Tour, six years ago. This program, which Casey has performed for over 35,000 students across the US, uses her original music to engage students in a conversation about bullying and self-confidence. Fans connect with Casey’s music because her songs are authentic, intimate, and relatable. She is committed to being honest with her fans, sharing her personal struggles, and empathizing with theirs. Whether through exposure on national television, social media, or on the road in schools across the country, Casey reminds students of the most important message of all: You Matter!
