Students Create "Body Biographies" in Seventh Grade ELA Classes
On December 16th and December 17th, 7th grade ELA students in Mrs. Marshall, Mrs. Secker, and Mrs. Sinople’s classes will all collaborate and work together to create an artistic representation of characters from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens - known as Body Biographies. In small groups, students will choose their favorite character and begin by tracing one of the student’s bodies in order to map out their character. Students will then draw on clothing and physical features of their character based on textual evidence. Students will include quotes that each character stated in the story to teach us a lesson or theme from the text. Students will also work together to explain how our reader’s workshop skills were used to build a stronger relationship with this character throughout our reading of the story.
