Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Cuthbertson Middle School

HisHeritage Seventh and eighth grade Spanish class students recognized the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United State by creating projects to celebrate the Hispanic Heritage Month.
Students researched the origin of the celebration, the achievements, and contributions of Hispanic Americans in the country and some important data related to the Hispanic population. Their findings were later presented in class and visually displayed in the school entrance hallway.
Seventh grade students learned about the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration by completing a questionnaire that required them to extract information from the display created by 8th grade students.
Both classes worked in teams to expand their understanding of the Spanish speaking world, its history, culture, and contributions of people whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, as well as Central and South America.
