Cavs French Classes Celebrate Mardi Gras

In French class, students learned about the Mardi Gras holiday by creating their own masks, enjoying a slice of King Cake, and completing a digital escape room about the holiday. Students followed the King Cake tradition with the youngest person sitting under the table, choosing who each slice goes to, so it is completely randomized. Whoever receives the "fève" (the tiny baby) in their slice is the king or queen for the day and is said to have good fortune and prosperity throughout the year, and who also has to bring the cake to the next celebration!
