8th Graders Go To Washington

East Union 8th graders visited our Nation’s Capital this April. Our students were exposed to brilliant artwork, sculptures, landmarks and history. While there students toured: Both the African American & Holocaust Museums, and also The Library of Congress. Students visited: the White House, the Vietnam Memorial, and the Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, King and Roosevelt Monuments. They also visited the Ronald Reagan Trade Center and the Pentagon City Mall. East Union students were selected to participate in: The Laying of the Wreath Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider, which was a special honor indeed.

A big THANK YOU goes out to our PTO, Marshville Methodist Church, and the Marshville community for their generosity and diligent fundraising efforts to make this trip a possibility for our students. Major kudos to Mr. Leon, Ms. Weste, Mr. Saunders, Ms. Hall and Ms. Bailey for their meticulous efforts in planning, organizing and ensuring the safety of our precious cargo.
