The Kindness Club collected duffel bags to donate to children in the Union County Foster Care Department. Children involved in foster care have been known to pack in garbage bags during quick transitional times. Our club did not want these children to feel the trash bags were a representative of themselves, so we decided to collect duffel bags for them to use instead. Our club did a great job of collecting a large box of duffel bags to donate. Thousands more are needed but we certainly made a difference for some. (In 2016, according to the NC foster care facts, over 10,000 children were in foster care. The average length of stay is 19 months. Over 2900 kids are waiting for adoption and 95,000 kids are being raised by their grandparents. ) Thank you to everyone who could donate to this project!
