Congratulations to Mrs. Erving on her retirement!

Congratulations to Mrs. Kirsten Erving on her retirement from Fairview!

Mrs. Erving has taught Montessori School in Huntington, WV and second grade in Cincinnati, OH. She came to Fairview in 2001 as a substitute teacher and began teaching second grade full time here in 2005.

Mrs. Erving will miss everything about Fairview- except for having to wake up early!

She says, "I have made some of the best friends and worked with amazing people over the years. I know I will miss watching students grow and seeing the excitement when they learn something new. I love to interact with students to make learning interesting and maybe a little fun sometimes."

When asked what she looks forward to in retirement, she replied, "Everything! I am fortunate enough to retire with my husband and best friend at the same time. We have a lot of adventures planned. We plan to sail on the sailboat we bought last year, starting in the Bahamas and hopefully the entire Caribbean, through the Panama Canal, the Galapagos, and someday the world. I would like to go to all the National Parks in the USA and eventually a lot of the National Parks around the world. I am looking forward to more concerts, festivals and time with friends. I hope that I can drain my bucket list! I am also hoping to start a YouTube channel or learning platform for people who want to learn about some of the beautiful places that I hope to travel, show the nature and wildlife, and learn about the environment."

Mrs. Erving says, "Thank you to the Fairview Family for the great experiences, friendship, and support over the last 20ish years. I know that I chose the best community and school to finish out my career. I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else- unless I could teach from the boat."

Thank you, Mrs. Erving, for all your years of faithful service and dedication to Fairview. You will be greatly missed. Bon Voyage! πŸ’›πŸ’œ #fairviewfamily  #TeamUCPS #bethebest
