FHHS club members help make Fall Festival a success
On Friday October 20, Union Elementary put on their annual Fall Festival for students and parents to have fun and raise money for the school. This is the largest fundraiser held by Union Elementary. It included games, a 50/50 raffle, a haunted hall, a silent auction, and many other exciting festivities!
FHHS Beta Club adviser Brianne Davis orchestrated the partnership with Barbara Simpson from Union Elementary. The Forest Hills Beta Club has been assisting with the Fall Festival for many years. This year, the volunteer opportunity was opened up to other clubs, including FCCLA and I’m A GIRL. These students from Forest HIlls volunteered to help run the games and haunted hall for the festival and make sure everything was running smoothly. Overall, the festival was a success, and everyone had a blast being involved!
Forest Hills students particularly enjoyed dressing up and scaring individuals in the haunted hall. Students arrived at 4:00 pm to begin getting ready for the festivities. The entire festival ran from 6:00-8:30 pm.
Mrs. Davis stated, “I am very proud of our Forest Hills students who participated in this event. They were respectful and well behaved while having a good time. Our students will definitely continue the tradition of volunteering at the Union Fall Festival next year.”
Barbara Simpson, the Union Elementary School teacher responsible for coordinating the event, emailed Dr. Plue praising Forest Hills students. Mrs. Simpson stated, “I just want to let you know how much I appreciated the FH Beta Club along with their sponsor, Brianne Davis, for all the help last Friday night at our Fall Festival. I believe they were the best behaved and hardest working group of young adults we have ever had helping us out. Many of our teachers have expressed how helpful they were at the games and how much better the Haunted Hall was with their help.”
