In the Media Center
In the media center, third, fourth, and fifth grade students explored the uniqueness and beauty of snowflakes. We began by reading the biography, Snowflake Bentley, about a self-taught scientist who photographed thousands of individual snowflakes in order to study their unique formations. Then students had the opportunity to create their own digital snowflakes using an online website. Students also learned how to capture a screenshot and save it as their background on their Chromebooks. Finally, students were able to discuss their techniques and share their final products with classmates. If you would like to create your own digital snowflake, type bit.ly/HBsnowflake123 in the address bar of your web browser.
