The fifth grade is having a blast learning all about Science! For Forces and Motion, the students had a chance to explore basic concepts such as gravity, force and acceleration through an experiment called The Egg Drop. The general idea is to have students work in teams to synergize to design a structure that will allow an egg to safely fall from an approximately 8-10 foot height without breaking. All groups were given the same supplies, time to plan, and then time to put their plans in action. This was a great opportunity for students to use the habits and to learn that sometimes plans don’t always work out. Even though most students were unsuccessful in keeping their eggs safe and secure from any breaks, all students had a great time learning and that is truly what it is all about!
