Start With Hello Week celebrates the amazing work of educators, students, and community members in building socially inclusive learning environments for all students. This program was organized by the Sandy Hook Promise, following a tragedy event in Newtown, Connecticut. Family members who were impacted created this program to prevent violence and mobilize wellness programs to identify, intervene, educate and help at-risk individuals. This program teaches students in grades K–12 to help their peers in a fun and meaningful way. It is designed for students to take small but powerful actions by connecting with peers and breaking down barriers of social isolation.
Marshville Elementary School will recognize Start with Hello Monday, September 21st through Friday, September 25th. Students and staff are encouraged to wear green during the week. We will focus on starting each day with “Hello” to build confidence and establish a connection with peers and teachers.
